Cars and Motorcycles of England 2024
By Kathy Johnson
After a spring of almost constant rain on weekends, the clouds parted and we had spectacular weather for our annual CMOE at Hope Lodge on June 1st. Our annual show, co-sponsored by the Delaware Valley Jaguar Club, has grown into the premiere British Car Show in the region. Its popularity is confirmed by
the sheer volume and variety of vehicles that attend. For example, this year we had a judged showfield consisting of 34 MGs 19 Minis, 52 Triumphs, 5 Lotus, 4 Austin Healeys, 4 Morgans, 4 Land Rovers, 2 Rolls- Royces, a TVR and a large contingent of 15 Aston Martins. This doesn’t include the massive turnout of
Jaguars and motorcycles this year…..

Three weeks earlier than in previous years, the 2017 Pennsylvania America’s British Reliability Run was set to start off on an unseasonably, politically incorrect “Indian Summer” morning. Thanks to the humidity of Hurricane Jose, with temperatures forecast in the mid-80s, and maybe even in the 90s on Sunday, the first day of fall! The usual “layering” of driving clothes would not be happening in 2017.
The Vintage Triumph Register National Convention was held in Princeton, NJ on August 16th thru 19th. The Triumph GT6 was the featured marque this year at VTR 2017 and many lined the street as part of the 172 cars registered this year for this multi-day event. There were 75 cars that were in the Concours portion of this national show.
